Great News: DBW's First Magazine Cover + Homepage Feature!
Remember that other amazing thing that happened a few weeks go? Well, another dope thing happened this week. Go to the University of Michigan's website and you will find our very own Dear Black Women featured on the HOMEPAGE. OH. EM. GEE!!! But, not only that...
Dear Black Women was asked to be the cover story of the annual Made at Michigan magazine. #MadeAtMichigan highlights ventures launched at the University of Michigan. What's the DBW x Michigan connection? DBW's founder Flo is currently completing two Masters at UofM (MBA and MSI), while pouring her heart and soul into the DBW movement along with 100's of women locally! #SheReady and #SheBusy. LOL!
It's rare that initiatives squarely focused on the affirmation of Black women receive institutional recognition. In fact, that is one of many reason DBW is needed. So, we are moved that key allies agree that we are worthy of affirmation! To every Black woman who is a part of the movement: We see you. We appreciate you. We affirm you.
Dear Black Women engages with 1,000's of Black women across the country. Through our affirmation circles and events, social media, affirmation merchandise and podcast (new episodes soon), we are unequivocal about our right, our need to affirm ourselves. And. It's. Just. The. Beginning.
In 2018, we expand our Circles, events and partnerships to regions across the United States, as well as increase our online presence. So, thank you for being a Day 1 and supporting Dear Black Women! Share us with other Black women. New to Dear Black Women? Join the movement.
